IT Support Specialist II
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: On-Site

Department: Information Technology (Food Manufacturing)
Reports To: IT Director and Senior Systems Analyst
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Support Specialist II to join our IT team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This position provides hands-on technical support for employees, endpoint devices, Microsoft Applications, and technology used across office and manufacturing locations. The position will support desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, Security cameras, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, endpoint-management tools, and basic network connectivity. The person in this position will be working with five other team members, including support, infrastructure, and systems engineers.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who works well under pressure, enjoys supporting users in both office and production environment, managing multiple priorities, and resolving technical issues that affect daily business and manufacturing operations. The candidate must be willing to travel to the two other company locations as needed for support and small project work.
Key Responsibilities
End-User Support
  • Provide Level 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and related peripherals. Currently there are 400 desktops and laptops in use.
  • Monitor camera system to make sure they are all online.
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft Office.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining Active Directory user accounts, security groups, login scripts, shared resources, shared-folder permissions, mapped drives, and access requests.
  • Assist with password, authentication, and multi-factor authentication issues.
  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Windows desktop and laptop systems.
  • Install, configure, and support third-party business applications.
  • Set up and maintain printers on Windows workstations and servers.
  • Perform basic network cabling and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Document support requests, resolutions, recurring issues, and technical procedures.
  • Participate in technology deployments, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
  • Travel to other company locations as required for support and project initiatives. This may be a few times a year. We typically stay M-F at the site when someone travels.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation providing after-hours and weekend support. Rotation is for a week every five weeks.

Endpoint Deployment and Management
  • Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows desktops and laptops.
  • Assist with Microsoft Intune device enrollment, software deployment, policy application, and endpoint configuration.
  • Install operating-system updates, applications, drivers, and security software.
  • Support mobile devices and other company-managed endpoints.
  • Assist with equipment inventory, lifecycle replacement, and asset tracking.
  • Follow IT security, change-management, and incident-management procedures.

Manufacturing-Site Technology Support
  • Provide technical support for office and production-floor users.
  • Support manufacturing workstations, shared terminals, barcode scanners, label printers, and related site technology, as applicable.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, cabling, printer, and connectivity issues in production environments.
  • Coordinate with senior IT staff, equipment vendors, and site personnel to resolve technology issues outside the scope of Level 2 support.

Education & Experience
Required
  • 2-4 years of experience in an IT Support, Help Desk, or Systems Support role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows desktops and laptops.
  • Experience with Active Directory user administration and Microsoft 365 support.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, and basic networking.

Preferred
  • Associate's degree (2-year) or Bachelor's degree (4-year) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+ andor Microsoft certifications.

  • Participation in an after-hours and weekend on-call support rotation is required.
