Job description

Description
Colby-Sawyer College is seeking professional, friendly, part-time bartenders this summer with excellent communication skills to serve beer, wine and canned beverages in our unique on-campus pub. The bartenders will greet and engage with customers, provide information and recommendations on offerings and handle basic cleaning duties.
  • Evening availability required - typical shifts would be 4-6 pm and 9pm to Midnight
  • 20-25 hours per week from June 6 to August 15.
  • Additional catering/event bar service opportunities also available.
  • Hourly wage + tips.

Responsibilities
  • Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol in adherence with State and Colby-Sawyer College requirements.
  • Adhering to all food and beverage safety and quality regulations.
  • Handling cash and card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
  • Maintaining a clean work and bar area by removing trash, cleaning surfaces and washing glasses, utensils and equipment.

Requirements
  • Evening availability.
  • High School diploma.
  • State of NH Affidavit filing of Responsibility on record.
  • Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong task and time management abilities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc. for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.
