Legislative Affairs Specialist
The Opportunity:
Perform the full range of congressional liaison work, including analyzing, researching, and formulating official responses to requests from Members of Congress, Congressional Committees, and supporting Congressional Staff. Monitor the status of relevant legislation, pertinent hearings, markups, and floor actions. Develop comprehensive briefs and impact assessments on active legislative projects that highlight potential risks and opportunities for the organization. Research and develop background papers, talking points, and written and verbal statements for leadership when preparing to brief Congress or working engagements. Maintain organized databases and tracking systems for key legislation, voting records, and Congressional Committee schedules.
You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience working in a professional environment
  • 3+ years of experience in legislative affairs, congressional affairs, policy analysis, or working directly on Capitol Hill
  • Experience with legislative and regulatory documents and processes
  • Experience researching and writing background papers, talking points, and verbal and written statements
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to shifting legislative priorities
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience within a Legislative Affairs Office or as a congressional staffer such as a Legislative Assistant or Legislative Correspondent
  • Experience with cyber workforce matters
  • Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • TS/SCI clearance

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
