Your Role at Vantive

The Senior Tax Analyst will primarily support Vantive's US state and local income tax compliance process and will also assist with US federal and indirect tax compliance as needed. Duties include gathering relevant data, preparing and reviewing workpapers and documentation to support tax compliance and accounting, and responding to notices from state and local tax authorities.

This role also contributes to quarterly and annual global tax provision processes and supports automation and process improvement initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Gather relevant data to complete state and local income tax returns

  • Prepare workpapers and documentation to support the state and local tax returns

  • Prepare/review quarterly state and local estimated tax payments and extension calculations

  • Remit state and local tax payments and ensure accurate tracking and accounting

  • Correspond with state and local tax authorities to resolve tax issues

  • Respond to state and local tax notices and assist with preparation of audit responses and related documentation

  • Stay abreast of state legislative changes that may impact tax filings and tax provision computation

  • Assist with other US tax projects (e.g., federal, indirect, tax accounting), special projects, technical research, and other matters as needed

  • Support quarterly and annual global tax provision processes, including effective tax rate calculations, UTP reserve and valuation allowance analyses, and journal entries

  • Assist in preparing and e-filing U.S. consolidated federal income tax returns, including estimated and extension payments

  • Participate in automation and process improvement initiatives

  • Maintain tax documentation and workpapers in accordance with SOX and internal audit standards

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Treasury, Accounting) to ensure accurate data flow and compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • CPA or advanced degree in Taxation preferred

  • 3+ years of professional tax compliance experience, with either a public accounting firm or in-house tax department

  • Must have experience with OneSource tax solutions. ERP systems knowledge (JDE, FCCS, Planful) is a plus

  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Experience with workflow tools such as Alteryx and Power BI is a plus

  • Self-starter who takes initiative while seeking appropriate guidance

  • Strong accounting, analytical, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively with Tax, Finance, Accounting and other departments in the U.S. and other countries

  • Ability to multi-task and properly prioritize tasks based on deadlines

  • Demonstrate a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving

  • Experience with tax provision software and federal tax compliance tools (e.g., CorpTax, ONESOURCE)

  • Strong understanding of U.S. tax regulations and GAAP

The estimated base salary for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
