Legal Secretary

San Francisco, CA Office

Job Summary:


An internationally recognized, award-winning law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join its San Francisco office, supporting a team of attorneys in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.


This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives under pressure, takes initiative, and delivers exceptional administrative and legal support.


What You'll Do:


  • Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
  • Manage state and federal court filings, including e-filing procedures
  • Open new matters, conduct conflict checks, and prepare engagement documentation
  • Create and maintain Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities (TOC/TOA)
  • Support billing functions, including time entry and proforma review
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical files within the document management system
  • Coordinate depositions, hearings, travel, and attorney schedules
  • Liaise with court reporters, vendors, and internal departments
  • Provide comprehensive day-to-day administrative support to attorneys


What You Bring:


  • 5+ years of legal secretarial experience (litigation preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years supporting billing attorneys
  • Strong experience with state and federal e-filing systems (required)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Typing speed of 60+ WPM with high accuracy
