As a Weekend Legal Secretary, your main responsibilities often include preparing legal documents, managing incoming correspondence, organizing case files, and scheduling appointments for attorneys who require support outside regular business hours. You may also be tasked with reviewing documents for accuracy, coordinating with clients or court personnel, and ensuring all urgent matters are addressed promptly. While the weekend role may involve working independently, you’ll frequently collaborate remotely with other secretaries and attorneys to maintain workflow continuity. This position is essential for law firms that handle time-sensitive matters or provide extended client service, making your contributions highly valued.

Legal Secretary

A leading law firm is seeking a legal secretary for its San Francisco office. This role provides high-quality administrative and clerical support to a team of attorneys, handling document preparation from drafting shells and formatting to proofreading pleadings, correspondence, and memoranda, along with preparing tables of contents and tables of authorities. The legal secretary also manages new case intake, including conflict checks, file opening, and engagement letters, and supports government filings and closing materials as needed for the team's practice. Daily responsibilities include time entry, client billing (proforma review, cover letters, and distribution to clients and accounting), and organizing files both physically and within the firm's document management system. The role also covers scheduling depositions, hearings, and meetings, coordinating attorney travel, processing expense reimbursements and vendor invoices, and maintaining client and contact databases.
