Position Summary
The Legal & Compliance Administrator is responsible for providing administrative and document support for routine legal, compliance, risk management, and insurance-related activities. This position will assist with preparing forms, gathering information, maintaining files and trackers, drafting routine communications, and supporting business filings, certificates, applications, and other department processes under the direction of Legal & Risk Department team members.
The firm has one available position in either Alpharetta, GA; Cleveland, OH; Dover, OH or St. Louis, MO. Some positions at Novogradac may be open to remote or hybrid work arrangements depending on business needs. Please discuss available options with your recruiter.
Your Contributions and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation, organization, and submission of routine business filings, registrations, certificates, forms, and related documentation under the direction of Legal & Risk Department team members.
  • Gather information and supporting documentation needed for legal, compliance, risk management, insurance, and administrative requests.
  • Assist with requests related to Secretary of State filings, certificates of insurance, business insurance documentation, policy change requests, and annual insurance applications.
  • Prepare, format, and maintain routine legal, compliance, and risk management documents, forms, letters, emails, and other department communications for review.
  • Organize, maintain, and update Legal & Risk Department files, trackers, records, templates, case management system, and other documentation in a logical and systematic manner.
  • Monitor, route, and assist with routine inquiries received by the Legal & Risk Department, including department inboxes or request channels, as assigned.
  • Assist with gathering and organizing documentation for third-party risk management, client due diligence, vendor requests, and other compliance-related requests.
  • Support department team members with routine administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, scheduling, document routing, proofreading, and follow-up on outstanding items.
  • Track deadlines, renewal dates, and status updates for assigned filings, applications, certificates, and other recurring department tasks.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and external contacts while providing timely and accurate support.
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned.

Your Background and Skills
  • High school diploma and 1-2 years of legal, compliance, or professional services administrative or office management experience, or an appropriate balance of education and work experience.
  • Preferred Associate or bachelor's degree in business administration, legal studies, compliance, risk management, or related area.
  • Superior organizational and follow-through skills, performing work accurately with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload, including a variety of concurrent and shifting priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High ethical standards and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Strong customer service-oriented skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including solid skill in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and gain proficiency with using related software (i.e. Mitratech, Ironclad, Ivanti Service Manager).
  • Ability to prepare, proofread, and maintain documents, forms, records, and correspondence with thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Ability to gather information from multiple sources and organize documentation for review.
  • Ability to follow established processes, ask appropriate questions, and escalate issues when additional guidance is needed.

Compensation: $56,000 to $76,000 depending on experience. More is possible if experience dictates.
