Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant to join our growing legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating various legal affidavits and supporting documents for foreclosure and creditor rights matters. The ideal candidate has experience in legal document preparation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review case files to ensure readiness for affidavit preparation.
  • Request judgment figures and related data through client systems and accurately update the firm's case management platform.
  • Determine, obtain, and review supporting documentation such as payment histories and loan records based on jurisdictional requirements.
  • Redact personally identifiable information (PII) in compliance with privacy laws, client requirements, and firm policies.
  • Prepare and draft legal affidavits, including:
    • Affidavits of Indebtedness
    • Loss Mitigation Affidavits
    • Statements of Review
    • Certificates of Business Records
  • Ensure affidavits comply with client directives, court requirements, and jurisdiction-specific rules.
  • Utilize quality control checklists and submit documents for peer review prior to execution and filing.
  • Monitor workflow queues and maintain accurate case status updates in client and internal systems.
  • Upload completed affidavits to client portals and track documents through execution.
  • Respond professionally to client inquiries and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Meet or exceed established monthly productivity and accuracy goals.
  • Participate in special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Litigation Assistant, or Paralegal.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of legal document preparation and filing procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Professional demeanor with a strong focus on confidentiality and client service.

Preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in foreclosure, mortgage servicing, creditor rights, collections, or real estate litigation.
