Position Summary

The Post Judgment Legal Assistant aides in the management of all post-judgment enforcement activities as directed by the Post Judgment Attorney.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Review post-judgment files to determine what, if any, enforcement action is appropriate
  • Confirm any information regarding consumersโ€™ assets/income prior to commencement of enforcement activity
  • Generate enforcement documents in accordance with the forms, policies, and procedures provided by the Legal Operations department
  • Submit enforcement documents to the court, marshal or sheriff for processing electronically, directly or indirectly
  • Supervise and track enforcement processes and documents
  • Enter and post all enforcement data into the firmโ€™s case management system
  • Communicate with enforcement officers, courts, banks, employers, attorneys and consumers about garnishment accounts
  • Import all enforcement imaging into the firmโ€™s case management system


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience working in a legal office or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Paralegal Certification or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to work with databases and on-line technological platforms
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, fax machine, printer, scanner, and computer.
  • Knowledge of legal principles and legal terminology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to be detail-oriented, diligent, and flexible
  • Ability to handle conflicting time demands and focus on task completion with little direction or need for supervisory follow-up
  • Proficient command of the English language in both oral and written format
  • Ability to work and maintain patience with diversified individuals of various ethnic backgrounds and professional competencies
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional manner
