Job description

We’re Hiring! 7 Cedars Casino has a rare opening for a Full-Time Surveillance Observer. Join the team that keeps a sharp eye on the action and helps keep the casino safe, secure, and running smoothly. The Surveillance Observer uses video surveillance to protect company assets and possesses knowledge of Surveillance operations. Responsible for electronic and covert surveillance activities in all areas of the Casino, Hotel/Resort, Longhouse Market, and Golf Courses. Observe, monitor and record events as they unfold at the Casino and other resort properties and parking areas. Disclose irregularities, variances from procedure, etc., to the immediate attention of the Surveillance Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Operates surveillance equipment and ensures accurate video documentation as it relates to irregular or deviant activities
  • Observe for any illegal activities and violations of gaming regulatory requirements and resort policies
  • Responsible for the electronic and covert surveillance activities in all areas of the Casino, Hotel/Resort, Longhouse Market, and Golf Courses
  • Detect, document, and record suspicious activities within the Casino and other Resort properties
  • Check all equipment to ensure that it is in full working order and the documentation and notification of all faults to the Surveillance Manager
  • Completes all required daily logs and reports
  • Communicate with Security, Management, Tribal & State Gaming agencies, legal system and Human Resources – Following the chain of command
  • Must exercise confidentiality and discretion on a daily basis
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Must follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Follow all general and department policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Two years gaming-related or gaming-enforcement experience preferred
  • Knowledge of casino games preferred
  • Ability to visually observe monitors for extended period of time
  • Must possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests
  • and/or team members
  • Proficient in using a computer or other CCTV equipment
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including but not limited to telephone systems, calculators, copiers and facsimile machines
  • Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality
  • Highly adaptable with the ability to adjust to change in a positive manner  
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to type reports and log entries
  • Strong organization, prioritization and multiple-tasking skills
