Legal Intake Sales information

What is a legal intake sales professional?

A Legal Intake Sales professional is responsible for handling initial inquiries from potential clients at a law firm or legal service provider. They gather essential case information, assess the needs of callers, and determine if the case aligns with the firm's practice areas. In addition to customer service, they use sales techniques to convert inquiries into new clients for the firm. Their role is crucial in the client acquisition process, as they are often the first point of contact and help guide clients through the intake process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a legal intake sales professional?

To thrive as a Legal Intake Sales professional, you need a strong understanding of legal terminology, client qualification processes, and sales techniques, often supported by experience in legal or sales environments. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software, call tracking systems, and intake management tools is typically required. Excellent communication, active listening, and empathy are crucial soft skills for building trust and rapport with potential clients. These skills and qualities are vital to effectively convert inquiries into clients while ensuring a positive representation of the legal firm.

How does the legal intake sales role interact with attorneys and other legal staff during the client onboarding process?

In a Legal Intake Sales position, you'll regularly collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to ensure that potential clients' cases are accurately assessed and routed. After gathering essential information from clients, you’ll communicate key details to the legal team, often participating in briefings or follow-up meetings to clarify case specifics. This teamwork is crucial for maintaining seamless client onboarding and ensuring that the right cases move forward efficiently. Successful Legal Intake Sales professionals develop strong communication skills and a good understanding of legal terminology to facilitate smooth collaboration.

Job description

Description
Our law office is growing fast, and we're searching for a full-time legal intake specialist to help us succeed! You'll serve as the compassionate voice of our law firm, fielding inbound calls from prospective clients in their time of need, screening and surveying for potential cases, and helping our lawyers manage their meetings. If the thought of coming to work every day and making a positive impact on the lives of the clients we serve excites you, start your application today!
Why This Job Is Different
Most sales jobs have you pushing products you don't believe in to people who don't need them. This one is different.
At Martin IP Law Group, you'll be helping inventors, engineers, and visionaries figure out how to protect their ideas - patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Clients have something real at stake, and your job is to help them understand their options and take the right next step.
We're a small, close-knit IP law firm in downtown Evansville, Indiana, with a satellite office in Carmel, Indiana. One attorney, a growing support team, and a genuine commitment to building something great together. If you want a job where your work actually matters and your growth is limited only by your effort, keep reading.
How to Apply
We do ask one small extra step - not to make your life harder, but because it tells us something important.
Before applying, find and read "A Message to Garcia" by Elbert Hubbard (it's short and free online). In your response to the "Interest in Position" question, include one paragraph - no more than that - explaining why you think we asked you to read it before applying here.
One more thing: In response to the "Interest in Position" question, also write your last name and then your first name - both spelled backwards.
If that sounds like too much trouble, this probably isn't the right fit. If it sounds kind of interesting, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do
As the Client Intake Specialist, you'll be the first point of contact for prospective new clients. Your day-to-day will include:
• Meeting with prospective clients by phone and in person to help them understand their situation and their options
• Following up with prospects who have - and haven't yet - engaged the firm
• Opening new client matters and maintaining detailed records in our case management system
• Managing your own appointment calendar to hit agreed-upon goals
• Tracking and steadily improving your own conversion rates over time
You'll be trained on everything you need. What matters most is that you show up ready to learn.
