The Role

The Medical Manager coordinates the medical treatment and development of clients involved in non-wrongful death commercial vehicle accident and trucking cases within the firm's litigation departments. This role ensures clients receive timely and appropriate medical care, treatment progresses according to plan, medical documentation is complete, and the legal team has the information necessary to maximize case value and client recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Medical Treatment Coordination: Coordinate surgeries, imaging, therapy, pain management, and specialist care for assigned clients. Maintain treatment plans, assist with scheduling and referrals, and monitor progression.
  • Medical Strategy & Case Development: Identify treatment gaps and non-compliance, recommend additional development, build future damage model proposals, and update treatment strategy throughout the life of the case.
  • Documentation & Provider Management: Serve as the primary liaison with medical providers. Audit bills and records, follow up on missing documentation, and maintain accurate records within Filevine.
  • Client Medical Support & Damages: Conduct Life Impact interviews, document physical, emotional, and lifestyle limitations, and develop future damages proposals for qualifying cases.
  • Team Communication & Collaboration: Provide bi-weekly treatment updates, participate in case strategy discussions, escalate issues requiring attorney involvement, and collaborate with case teams to support progression.
