What is a Legal Access Group?

A Legal Access Group is an organization or team that provides individuals or communities with access to legal information, resources, and sometimes direct legal assistance. These groups often work to bridge the gap between the public and the legal system by offering services such as legal advice, education, or representation, particularly to those who may not otherwise be able to afford it. They can be found in various settings, including non-profits, law firms, or community organizations, and play a vital role in promoting legal rights and equality.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Legal Access Group professional, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Legal Access Group role, you generally need a background in law or paralegal studies, strong research skills, and knowledge of legal procedures. Familiarity with case management software, legal research databases (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw), and document management systems is typically required. Strong communication, attention to detail, and client service skills set top performers apart in supporting legal access and advocacy. These competencies ensure accurate legal support, efficient case handling, and improved client outcomes in a legal services environment.

What is the highest paid law job?

The highest paid law jobs are typically positions such as law firm partners, corporate general counsels, and senior legal executives, with partners at large firms earning several million dollars annually. What You'll Do

You will provide vital legal support for our US operations, focusing on the efficient execution of commercial agreements and contributing to our legal innovation roadmap. Working closely with our Head of Legal in the UK and our wider international legal team, you will help navigate the legal landscape of a high-growth environment.

This role can be done remotely within the US, although travel to one of our offices: New York, Dallas or LA is preferred.
Your responsibilities include:

  • Commercial Contracting: Support the drafting, negotiation, and review of agreements (client contracts, vendor contracts, NDAs). You will work alongside senior team members to provide rapid, high-quality turnaround for our commercial teams.

  • Regulatory Compliance Support: Help advise the business on US financial services regulations, securities law, and data privacy. You will assist in ensuring consistency and compliance across our operations under the guidance of the global legal team.

  • Legal Advisory & Training: Assist in translating complex legal requirements into plain language for internal stakeholders. You will support the delivery of training to commercial and HR teams, helping balance risk with business opportunity.

  • Legal Innovation & Process Improvement: Assist in the evolution of our legal tech stack. You will play a key role in the day-to-day implementation of AI solutions and CLM tools to help streamline processes and enable business self-service.

What You’ll Bring

Legal Qualification: From an accredited US law school and an active bar admission in Texas or another US state (or ability to obtain Texas bar admission).

Commercial Foundation: Developing experience in contract drafting and negotiation. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and eager to grow your commercial skills.

Regulatory Interest: A strong interest or foundational experience in financial services, securities law, and compliance frameworks. Familiarity with IP and data protection laws is a plus.

Innovation Mindset: A genuine enthusiasm for legal tech and automation. You are excited about using AI to reduce manual workloads.

Communication Skills: The ability to explain legal concepts clearly and a desire to learn how legal strategy enables sales and business velocity.

Organization: Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Collaboration: A proactive team player who enjoys learning from others and building relationships across commercial, compliance, and technology teams.

Preferred Experience: Experience within a SaaS company, tech-first environment, or information services is highly regarded.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Location: REMOTE US, although NYC, DAL and LA are preferred
  • Salary: $145,000 base salary plus annual company bonus scheme dependent on individual and company performance.

  • Vacation: 15 vacation days and 2 personal days, increasing to 20 vacation days after 2 years of service.

  • Volunteer Time: 2 CSR volunteer days annually.

  • Health & Wellbeing: Comprehensive healthcare coverage through Cigna (including a 100% employer-paid option), Wellhub access, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

  • Insurance: Life insurance and long-term disability coverage.

  • Savings Accounts: Pre-tax commuter, dependent care FSA, HSA, and medical FSA options.

  • Retirement: 401(k) plan with Roth and traditional options, including a company match of up to 5%. Access to Prosperwise financial advice.

  • Additional Perks: Competitive parental leave, pet insurance, personal development allowance, and phone allowance.

  • Culture: Stocked kitchens, regular social gatherings, and a strong commitment to ESG and Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.
