Job description

Executive Chef

Medina, OH

The Legacy Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, is looking for a talented and innovative full-time Executive Chef to join our opening team and lead the culinary operations of this 77-room boutique hotel. We are seeking a culinary professional who thrives in a dynamic, service-driven environment. As Executive Chef, you will have the opportunity to lead and develop your team while providing elevated hospitality and personalized guest service. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about creating memorable, plated moments, blends creative culinary artistry with business acumen, believes in fostering a culture of mentorship and support, and implements rigorous standards of food safety, preparation, and presentation.

The Legacy hotel features four distinct food and beverage outlets, including catering and banquet operations:

  • Privato: Chops, Seafood, Elegant Italian
  • La Vista: Coastal Italian & Raw Bar (with a rooftop bar)
  • Lily Jean’s: Coffee bar by day, Martini bar by night.
  • Locale at the Legacy Event Center

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Proven success as an Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef in an upscale environment.
  • Experience overseeing multiple food and beverage outlets.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in menu development, cost control, budgeting, and financial performance.
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A passion for hospitality and creating memorable, unique dining experiences.

Scope of Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the Corporate Chef to elevate and maintain premium food quality and service standards across all outlets. This includes directing daily food preparation, execution, and presentation.
  • Inventory and supply management – oversee all food purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and proper storage organization.
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, including line cooks and stewards, ensuring optimized production schedules for daily service and special events.
  • Oversee menu development, recipe standardization, and daily food preparation, including buffets, to ensure high-quality execution and adherence to The Legacy Hotel & Marriott brand standards.
  • Establish and enforce kitchen protocols to safely accommodate guest allergies and dietary restrictions.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and brand standards.
  • Manage food and labor costs through effective forecasting, purchasing, inventory management, and scheduling for multiple outlets.
  • Build strategic relationships with regional suppliers to source fresh, local ingredients that support a farm-to-table philosophy.
  • Drive innovation while maintaining operational excellence and financial performance.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, to provide hands-on leadership during peak service times.

The Benefits of Joining Our Team:

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance options
  • 401k Plan
  • Paid Time Off
  • A collaborative, creative, and people-first work culture.

The ideal candidate is a visible leader who enjoys being in the kitchen, mentoring team members and continuously elevating the culinary experience. You enjoy creating innovative menus, managing financial performance, and ensuring every plate reflects the highest standards of quality and service.

If you are passionate about culinary excellence and ready to lead a talented team in a distinctive upscale environment, we invite you to apply and become part of our leadership team.

Compensation: Competitive compensation package tailored to experience and expertise.
