Job description

Job Summary:
Sam Moore Furniture, a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation, is looking for an IT Support Technician to join their team in their Bedford, VA plant. The IT Support Technician will provide technical support, customer service, and assist with IT projects while maintaining a focus on excellent communication and documentation.
Responsibilities:
• Use knowledge of Windows operating systems to complete installs and upgrades, and support plant with troubleshooting and other system issues.
• Deliver excellent customer service to employees with a sense of urgency, providing follow-up as needed and documenting all end-user interactions.
• Provide telephone, remote, or in-person IT service and support to all Sam Moore plant and office employees.
• Assist with performing preventative maintenance, patches, and upgrades on technological equipment on a scheduled basis.
• Install and configure hardware and software components in accordance with IT policies.
• Configure & set up PC’s, laptops, thin clients, printers, etc. for new hires.
• Work with backup and Antivirus solutions.
• Use knowledge of Wi-Fi, network hardware, and connections daily.
• Develop and coordinate plant IT projects to be completed on time or ahead of schedule.
• Maintain inventories of equipment, forms, ribbons, & toner and provide report of those consumables monthly.
Qualifications:
Required:

• Have a 2-year degree in IT (Relevant Electronics background will be considered in lieu of degree).
• Have previous experience with RF Scanners and printers and previous experience working in a manufacturing center environment.
• Be a strong communicator and able to quickly and accurately document project details and help desk resolutions.
• Have a strong attention to detail.
• Be a team player, but also work well with minimal supervision.
Preferred:
• Have worked in Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be a plus (but not required).
• Have knowledge or worked with Lectra, Plataine, & or Solid Edge software would be a plus (but not required).
• Have IT affiliated course certificates would be a plus (but not required).
