We are seeking a results-driven Leasing Manager to manage student housing and leasing operations at Placemakr Marymount Ballston, the University's campus apartment community located in Ballston, Virginia. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the Manager will manage all administrative and billing functions and leasing activities for students and affordable units on Marymount University floors. The right candidate will work in partnership with the property management team and Student Financial Services to apply the correct billing charges for student residents and ensure the property meets its financial goals. The right individual will proactively seek opportunities to maximize revenue, is results-driven, and is eager to bring a positive experience to the apartment community.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
โ€ข Oversee and manage all aspects of the student housing selections and assignments process, including communication coordination.
โ€ข Lead and execute marketing and outreach campaigns to increase awareness of Marymount's housing options, utilizing various channels such as social media, campus events, and partnerships to drive tenant interest.
โ€ข Utilize multiple systems to ensure accuracy of housing assignments for student residents and prepares comprehensive monthly reporting for senior leadership.
โ€ข Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing systems and procedures, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in housing operations.
โ€ข Conduct regular market analyses to identify emerging trends, competitor strategies, and potential opportunities for growth, presenting findings to senior leadership for informed decision-making.
โ€ข Ensures the timely and accurate processing of student billing, payments, and collection of rent charges from Marymount units
โ€ข Be a strategic partner in achieving the highest possible occupancy revenue through effective tenant management and consolidation practices, coordination of marketing and renewal strategies, networking with the local college community, and generating qualified traffic to secure rentals and maintain occupancy at or above 95%
โ€ข Maintains a thorough understanding of Marymount's payment options, procedures, and systems to provide students with effective and accurate financial guidance
โ€ข Provides comprehensive and solution-oriented responses to student inquiries to ensure students are sufficiently informed of their financial responsibilities and payment options which can include tuition assistance and understanding financial aid awards
โ€ข Partners with the Student Financial Services team to ensure accuracy of student billing through monthly reconciliations and ad-hoc research and adjustments
โ€ข Address inquiries and concerns related to financial matters promptly and effectively.
โ€ข Oversee and manage expenses related to student housing operations
โ€ข Manages all aspects of compliance with Arlington County in relation to affordable housing units, including processing applications, verifying income for affordable housing tenants, and maintaining complete and up-to-date tenant records
โ€ข Works closely with the property management team related to reassignments, maintenance billings and other billables associated with administrative operations or facility-related functions
โ€ข Establish and maintain strong relationships with local community partners, fostering connections with businesses, organizations, and local influencers to support marketing efforts and attract prospective tenants.
โ€ข Meets with the Director of Finance and Operations on a weekly basis to review administrative initiatives and all tenant delinquencies
โ€ข Coordinates check-in and check-out procedures, processes tenant room change requests, maintains and updates student housing database and space allocation file
โ€ข Performs all sales and leasing activities by greeting and qualifying prospects, conducting community tours, showing apartments, processing applications, and preparing lease and move-in packages
โ€ข Manage the Marymount/Placemakr relationship providing updates and responses to senior leadership requests on an as-needed basis
โ€ข Adheres to accurate weekly and monthly reporting schedules
โ€ข This position may require occasional evening and weekend hours
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning or equivalent combination of education and experience.
โ€ข 3 years of university housing experience and/or relevant professional experience in an applicable role
โ€ข Strong proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
โ€ข Leasing management experience is strongly preferred
โ€ข Experience with Yardi, eRez, or Star Rez is a plus
โ€ข Previous experience in student accounts management
โ€ข Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field

โ€ข Meticulous attention to detail with strong organization/project management skills
โ€ข Ability to work in a positive manner with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures

The salary range for this position is $60,000-$70,000.
