Manager, Tech Learning Project Manager

This role will provide learning consultation and project management over the collective Tech Onboarding experience from intern to Tech Leader. This person will be responsible for the long term learning content strategy that includes milestones, roadmapping, planning, stakeholder management and storytelling to drive towards a Destination State Tech Onboarding Experience that enables all levels of engineers to contribute quickly upon joining Capital One. This role is expected to identify and escalate issues in risks in their team's delivery and will be responsible for partnering with engineering to execute and deliver technical solutions.

General Responsibilities include:

  • Lead strategic design for Tech Onboarding Programs, from new hire to senior leaders, iterating from feedback and data while consulting with engineering and learning leaders

  • Oversee implementation of new design initiatives into onboarding programs, ensuring alignment with organizational imperatives

  • Project manage multiple initiatives, leading program teams and providing strategic support as needed

  • Own the measurement and evaluation strategy to ensure learning solutions deliver desired outcomes

  • Collaborate on learner communications and external storytelling, sharing insights and outcomes about your work

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience educating, onboarding, or supporting technical roles

  • Experience partnering with key stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities and define new initiatives for business impact

  • Ability to demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment

  • Effective communication, both written and verbally, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

  • Ability to manage ambiguity, lead through change, and deliver in a matrixed environment

  • High level of initiative, ownership, and a customer-centric mindset

  • Strong expertise in applying adult learning theories to shape strategy

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • At least 3 years of experience in client facing consulting

  • At least 2 years of experience in learning and development

  • At least 1 year of experience in project management

  • At least 1 year of experience in learning strategy creation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or equivalent certifications

  • 3+ years of experience in consulting, advising, and influencing leadership

  • 3+ years of experience in learning strategy creation

  • 2+ years of experience in large-scale project management

McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400 for Manager, Project Management


Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700 for Manager, Project Management










Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
