Job SummaryThe Office of University Advancement seeks a graduate assistant to support development and fundraising initiatives for the CSU Foundation (a non-profit organization that supports the academic vision and priorities of CSU). This position will assist Development Officers and other Advancement staff with development tasks that engage and steward donors. This role is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented graduate student interested in gaining experience in the fields of alumni and donor relations or business development, and contributing to initiatives that foster strong relationships with alumni, donors, and other key stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Assist with donor stewardship tasks:
- Streamline the process for getting thank you notes/videos from scholarship recipients for donors;
- Collect scholar thank you notes and videos from the scholarship coordinators in the colleges; format and print thank you notes in preparation for distribution to donors;
- Prepare student impact stories for donor stewardship materials;
- Collaborate with Advancement Services to update constituent records in the fundraising database, Raiser's Edge, and maintain donor gift/proposal documentation;
- Assist with cultivation tasks, including layout and design of newsletters and other donor materials;
- Support Advancement Services in researching donor prospects in priority geographic areas.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree required.
- Currently enrolled graduate student in good academic standing.
- Preference given to those pursuing a degree in a field such as Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business, Management & Marketing, Data Management, or a related area.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with diverse audiences effectively.
- Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to balance multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain strict confidence regarding CSU constituents and protect sensitive information within the Office of University Advancement.
- Ability to display a positive attitude when communicating and working within a team-oriented unit.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with donor databases is a plus.
Proposed SalaryA tuition waiver (does not include student fees) and a semester stipend of up to $3,500, which is paid biweekly at an hourly rate. Health insurance is required and can be obtained through CSU at the student rate.
WORK SCHEDULE 19 hours per week, to be coordinated with employee's class schedule.
