About the team:
The Skydio Training team is transforming how pilots, technicians, and operators learn. As our programs continue to evolve beyond traditional classroom instruction into immersive, simulation-driven learning experiences, we are building the next generation of technical education for autonomous flight.
The Training Content team partners closely with instructors, curriculum developers, product teams, software engineers, simulation developers, and subject matter experts to create learning experiences that help customers and internal teams operate Skydio systems safely, confidently, and effectively.
About the role:
Skydio Training is transforming how pilots and technicians learn. As our programs continue to evolve beyond traditional classroom instruction into immersive, simulation-driven learning experiences, we're seeking a Senior Learning Experience Developer to help design the future of sUAS training for critical industry.
This role combines learning experience design, instructional media production, and continuous innovation using emerging tools and technologies. You'll translate complex technical concepts into engaging educational experiences while exploring new ways to leverage AI, Skydio Paraverse, augmented reality, and simulation to improve trainee performance in the field.
Working closely with instructors, curriculum developers, software engineers, simulation developers, and subject matter experts, you'll help shape the future of Skydio's pilot and technician training ecosystem.
How you'll make an impact:
  • Design and produce learner-centered experiences that improve knowledge transfer, skill development, and operational readiness.
  • Translate sophisticated technical systems into engaging learning experiences across classroom instruction, self-paced learning, simulation, and immersive training environments.
  • Lead production of instructional videos, motion graphics, animation, interactive content, and other multimedia learning assets.
  • Expand the integration of Skydio Paraverse throughout pilot and technician training while exploring new technologies including AI-assisted content creation, augmented reality, virtual reality, simulation, and interactive visualization.
  • Partner closely with instructors, engineers, simulation developers, instructional designers, and subject matter experts to create effective technical training.
  • Establish scalable production standards, templates, and workflows that improve quality and consistency across the Training organization.
  • Help define the roadmap for future learning technologies at Skydio.

What makes you a good fit:
  • BA/BS in Educational Technology, Digital Media, Media Production, Instructional Design, Communications, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years producing educational, instructional, or technical learning content.
  • Expertise in instructional video production, motion graphics, animation, and multimedia storytelling.
  • Experience creating learning content for complex technical products or specialized subject matter.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality instructional media.
  • Experience collaborating with engineers, instructional designers, and technical subject matter experts.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience supporting aviation, aerospace, robotics, defense, industrial equipment, autonomous systems, or other technically sophisticated products.
  • Experience developing immersive learning experiences using VR, AR, MR, simulation technologies, or interactive visualization platforms.
  • Familiarity with immersive learning platforms and simulator-based or scenario-based learning environments.
  • Experience with game engines or real-time visualization platforms such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
  • Familiarity with simulation technologies, digital twins, geospatial visualization, Cesium, 3D Tiles, or spatial data workflows.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted creative, instructional design, or production workflows.
  • Experience supporting aviation, aerospace, robotics, defense, industrial equipment, or similarly technical products.
  • Experience with immersive learning technologies including XR, simulation, or digital twins.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted creative workflows.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and performance-based training.
  • Experience creating scenario-based or simulator-based learning.

Compensation: At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $145,000. Fundamentally, we believe that equity is the key to long-term financial growth, and we ensure all regular, full-time employees have the opportunity to significantly benefit from the company's success. Regular, full-time employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's group health insurance plans. Regular, full-time employees are eligible to receive the following benefits: Paid vacation time, sick leave, holiday pay and 401K savings plan.
