Examples of Duties The Extra Help Student Intern will provide general assistance while gaining valuable work experience. Assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department. The current position will require excellent writing skills, oral communications, and working with the public.

Desirable Qualifications: Knowledgeable in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Ability to read and analyze technical reports. Ability to communicate professionally via phone and email communication.

Understanding of basic private sector business operations. Understanding of County structure. Must be able to perform job assignments in a timely and efficient manner.

Must be able to adjust to unexpected changes in work demand to meet deadlines. Ability to take on tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Desirable Education: Undergraduate in criminology, law, or closely related field. Individuals who are, or have been, a dependent child in foster care, a homeless youth, or a formerly incarcerated youth as defined by Government Code section 31000.11 are encouraged to apply and will be given priority.
