Job description

Summary of Duties

The Treasury Management Officer is responsible for driving deposit growth, expanding the use of treasury management services, and managing a portfolio of business customers. This position develops and strengthens customer relationships by identifying financial needs and delivering treasury management solutions that support each customerโ€™s business.

Key responsibilities include customer onboarding, deposit growth and retention, treasury product sales and implementation, ongoing customer follow-up, identifying new treasury management opportunities, problem resolution, and cross-selling appropriate products and services to existing customers and prospects.

The Treasury Management Officer works closely with Commercial Bank lenders, branch teams, and other departments to strengthen customer relationships and identify opportunities for deposit and treasury management growth. This position is expected to provide a high level of customer service while adhering to all Commercial Bank policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Included but are not limited to:

ยท        Proactively seeks new customers for Commercial Bank through a variety of activities including, but not limited to, sending communication, making phone calls, outbound in-person calling, and pre-scheduled appointments. Focus on deposit acquisition and cross-selling treasury management services.

ยท        Proactively contacts existing Commercial Bank customers through a variety of activities including, but not limited to, sending communication, making phone calls, outbound in-person calling, and pre-scheduled appointments. Focus on retention, cross-selling, and asking for referrals.

ยท        Creates, delivers, and discusses proposals for prospects and customers who have expressed interest in Commercial Bankโ€™s products and services.

ยท        Proficiently discusses and recommends Commercial Bankโ€™s products and services with new and existing customers based on features and benefits to fit the customerโ€™s needs.

ยท        Manages the onboarding and implementation of new business accounts and treasury management services, including customer training and ongoing support.

ยท        Ensures that Commercial Bankโ€™s business customers are knowledgeable of, trained to use, and satisfied with Commercial Bankโ€™s business and treasury management products and services.

ยท        Delivers on Commercial Bankโ€™s customer service promise and follows up timely.

ยท        Communicates and collaborates efficiently with Commercial Bankโ€™s Treasury Support team, branch staff, and Commercial Lending team.

ยท        Communicates regularly with the Department Manager on customer satisfaction, products and services, and problem resolution. 

ยท        Completes tracking spreadsheets for productivity, customer prospecting and retention, and product sales as directed by Department Manager.

ยท        Recommends product enhancements based on experience, market competition, and customer feedback.

ยท        Recommends and participates with training to continually build business and treasury skills.

ยท        Develops and maintains product knowledge for all of Commercial Bankโ€™s products and services and the procedures for selling, opening, and servicing those products and services.

ยท        Ensures compliance with all internal controls and established policies and procedures. Recommends changes to procedures to streamline processes.


Other Functions

1.      Familiar with and abides by all bank regulations including but not limited to BSA and OFAC.

2.      Adhere and comply with all Bank Policies.

3.      Other duties as assigned.


Job Qualifications & Requirements

Education/Certification/Licensing:

ยท        Associates Degree in Business or related field preferred.


Experience:

ยท        Minimum requirement of 3 -5 years of business/treasury banking or related experience required.

ยท        Good understanding of all Commercial Bankโ€™s depository products and services.

ยท        Good understanding of the Bankโ€™s Core system, MS Office Suite, and Treasury Management systems.

ยท        Ability to travel to branch and client locations throughout the workday.

ยท        Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and analytical skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image.

ยท        Proven sales abilities.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work in front of a computer for extended periods of hours; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. Must be able to travel from location to location throughout the office and to other bank offices, clients, outside meetings. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
