Job description

Overview
Location: Hybrid (Denver, CO)
Type: Full-time role
An Industry Defining Company
Karoo is a venture-backed startup transforming cardiology care through a comprehensive, technology-enabled health management model that improves patient outcomes while reducing total cost of care and enhancing revenue opportunities for health plans. Our value-based approach creates a collaborative framework that enhances provider effectiveness by aligning incentives across all stakeholders: patients, providers, and payers, resulting in superior cardiac care with greater efficiency across the system.
Karoo integrates a curated network of cardiac caregivers and providers, personalized care navigation, and a technology-driven care and key insights platform to rapidly address clinical and non-clinical needs throughout the patient journey. By proactively managing care and closing gaps, Karoo ensures that patients receive the right care without delay, reducing avoidable hospitalizations and improving longer-term outcomes, thereby creating revenue and cost of care savings opportunities for payers.
This is a rare opportunity to join a mission-driven founding team at a pivotal stage and help define the future of healthcare, with the power to improve the lives of patients with cardiovascular disease, the number one cause of death in America today.
The Role
The Manager of Learning and Development is responsible for overseeing employee onboarding and designing, implementing, and evaluating learning and development programs that enhance employee performance, support career growth, and build team capabilities. This role partners closely with leaders across the company to identify training needs, support employee experience and People Operations initiatives, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
This is a hybrid position that requires flexibility to provide on-site support in Karoo's Denver office and other on-site locations at least monthly, and more frequently as needed, to facilitate leadership meetings, team events, onboarding activities, and other operational initiatives that support the employee experience. Additionally, the role requires understanding the unique needs of care delivery teams vs. business and technology teams in a digital health environment.
What You'll Do
Team Member Onboarding
  • Lead and continuously improve the end-to-end onboarding experience, ensuring new team members are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed for a successful start.
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate new hire orientation programs that introduce employees to Karoo's mission and culture.
  • Partner with hiring managers to create role-specific onboarding plans, establish and measure onboarding performance metrics, and support successful integration into the team.

Medical Licensure & Credentialing
  • Coordinate and track Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements, ensuring clinicians complete required credits and maintain documentation for license and board certification renewals.
  • Maintain accurate records of professional licenses, board certifications, and CME activities within internal tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Operations and Clinical Services to support onboarding, credentialing, and ongoing compliance for licensed providers.

People and Business Operations
  • Support the Director of People in analyzing employee feedback and learning metrics to identify trends and recommend solutions that improve engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of People policies, operating procedures, and documentation to ensure consistency and scalability.
  • Provide operational support in the Denver office and other on-site locations for leadership visits, company-wide meetings, and other strategic initiatives requiring on-site coordination.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in learning and development, talent development, training, or organizational development.
  • Proven track record designing and facilitating training programs for care delivery, operations, and technology teams.
  • Experience managing or supporting nursing licensure, continuing education (CE), and regulatory compliance, including tracking renewal deadlines, maintaining licensure records, and ensuring clinicians meet state-specific licensing requirements.
  • Empathetic, pragmatic, and highly organized, with excellent judgment and communication skills.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Digital health experience is a plus.
Why Join Us
  • Competitive salary and equity.
  • Fully-remote work environment available.
  • Full benefits package.
  • A collaborative and transparent company culture that values creativity and ownership.
