Job description

The Program Manager is the key point of contact between the customer and the organization for all existing development, production and long-term agreements. This person manages all phases of complex electronic development and manufacturing programs leading to successful introduction of new products on the Avionics market for various and/or dedicated military customers.
Responsibilities
  • Prepares Program plans, including schedules, statements of work, work breakdown structures and budgets. Participates in proposal efforts and contract negotiations for larger programs
  • Works with the business development organization to develop additional opportunities by leveraging off current customers and programs
  • Chairs internal and customer program reviews. Serves as the primary customer interface and is accountable for customer satisfaction while meeting all contractual and internal financial requirements. Also interfaces with supporting government agencies for civil aviation programs, including FAA.
  • Analyzes requirements to develop focused program essentials, specifying goals, strategy, staffing need, scheduling, identification and management of risks, contingency plans, and best use of available resources
  • Follows up the introduction of new developments into a production environment
  • Remains responsible for the execution of deliveries in series production phase, as well as the sustainment and change management of the product until successful handover to the aftersales/maintenance team
  • Directs and coordinates activities of assigned program personnel of the various disciplines (R&D, test department, subcontractors, purchase, operations, quality assurance) to ensure program progresses on schedule and within budget providing leadership and motivation to the project team members throughout the program life cycle.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent. At least 4 years of experience in project or program management, preferably in Aviation or Defense industry, at least in highly technical production environment
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and ability to communicate both external and internal at various levels including senior management.
  • Strong organization skills, time management. Ability to work as primary contact with major customers. Proven experience as team leader with a pro-active approach to program management
  • Business analysis experience is desired
  • Strong affinity for technical matters such as electronic and software. Education in any of these fields is a complementary asset
  • PMI certified or willingness to take courses towards PMI Certification is an extra advantage
