Job Summary:
The Aerospace Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and close-out of assigned proposals, development, and production programs. This role supports aerospace business dealings with prime contractors and the United States Government (USG). The Aerospace Project Manager will ensure the achievement of both customer and internal business case objectives by collaborating across business functions to develop strategic vision and tactical direction for the assigned programs and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage overall program performance in terms of time, cost, and quality, ensuring accountability for successful delivery.
  • Lead the creation of program plans, schedules, work breakdown structures, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies, enabling functional teams to execute effectively.
  • Ensure development programs are adequately planned at both business and functional levels to meet business case and customer contract objectives.
  • Apply core planning principles, including requirements planning, deliverables definition, milestone tracking, risk management, resource allocation, and critical path scheduling.
  • Oversee the monitoring and control phase of program execution with robust management systems and cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Implement scope, schedule, and cost baseline change controls.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage internal performance scorecards for both development and production programs.
  • Lead new product introduction phases to ensure successful transition from development to production and customer service.
  • Utilize gated control and approval processes throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure strong customer scorecard performance and manage internal performance metrics accordingly.
  • Lead efforts to identify and improve upon performance variances from business case objectives.
  • Drive "get to green" or recovery efforts for scorecard performance variances through team leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and subcontractors to foster collaborative working environments.
  • Serve as the primary customer interface for development, production, and sustainment programs.

  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes.
  • Familiarity with government contracting mechanisms, FAR, DFARS, and DPAS clauses.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management techniques and reporting is a plus.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification required.
