This position can work out of any one of our Abbott locations around the global in the Toxicology, Diagnostics Division. The Senior Manager, Global Commercial Training provides bold, strategic leadership in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a worldclass training curriculum for global field sales and customerfacing teams. This role oversees New Hire Training (NHT) and Ongoing/Tenured Training programs and ensures alignment with the organization's broader strategic objectives.

Using strong leadership, collaboration, and a global mindset, this individual leads the following:

What You'll Work On

  • Identify training needs and capability gaps across key stakeholder groups (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Professional Education).

  • Develop and design innovative training programs supported by clear success measures.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.

  • Aligning all regions around a unified global training framework that can be easily adapted locally while maintaining consistency in messaging and content quality. Will contribute to the design and development of embedded robotic control software under a disciplined product development process that meets FDA and other regulatory requirements.

  • Provide leadership and vision for the development, planning, and execution of global field training programs.

  • Partner with Sales Leadership, Marketing, and Commercial Excellence to understand training needs and deliver scalable training solutions.

  • Lead the creation of a single global curriculum framework adaptable across regional markets.

  • Act as a member of cross-functional leadership forums to ensure training strategies support business priorities.

  • Build a bestinclass training program built based in adult learning principles, instructional design, and modern training technologies.

  • Motivate, influence, and guide the team to achieve goals, solve problems, and deliver high-quality, engaging training.

  • Promote best practices and innovative learning approaches across the organization.

  • Ensure all training development and delivery meet compliance, quality, and regulatory standards.

  • Develop strong cross-functional partnerships (e.g., R&D, Marketing, Sales, Clinical, Legal, Regulatory) to ensure training content is accurate, compliant, and aligned with business needs.

  • Oversee tracking of training proficiency, compliance, and performance using standardized systems where possible.

  • Monitor training effectiveness and drive databased continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure content is efficiently shared and leveraged.

  • Benchmark practices across industries to maintain competitive and innovative training approaches.

  • Manage the department budget and ensure effective use of resources.

  • Maintain strong knowledge of relevant products, technologies, markets, and industry trends to ensure training content remains current.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience designing and delivering training programs.

  • Proven experience developing training for complex products, services, or technical environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of front-line selling experience

  • Strong understanding of product development, program management, and commercial/marketing functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to simplify and communicate complex concepts.

  • Experience creating multimedia or blendedlearning content (virtual + inperson).

  • Strong instructional design capabilities and experience conducting needs assessments.

  • Advanced software proficiency in presentation, authoring, and media development tools.

  • Ability to work in a matrixed, fastpaced, and geographically diverse organization.

  • Excellent communication and projectmanagement skills.

  • Ability to manage issues, make decisions, and meet deadlines effectively.
