PTR is looking for a highly motivated and collaborative Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will manage the dynamic compliance needs of the Company - including but not limited to accounting, accounts payable, and internal control. Flexibility is essential in this fast-paced, evolving environment.

COMPENSATION

  • This position offers a competitive compensation package, benchmarked to regional market standards. It consists of a base salary plus the opportunity for quarterly profit sharing after one year of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • VENDOR INVOICE REVIEW: Perform critical review of general ledger coding and payment approval for high volumes of vendor invoices.
  • RESEARCH: Research discrepancies in financial information and/or documentation (e.g. purchase orders, vendors, invoices, etc.) to ensure accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing.
  • RESOURCE: Be an added resource for the accounts payable team for questions on documentation and accounting issues.
  • PAYMENT BACKUP: Initiate approved payment transactions, including wire transfers, ACH payments, checks, and virtual card payments, while providing necessary reporting and support, on a recurring basis as a critical task backup.
  • JOURNAL ENTRIES: Support monthly financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accrual of monthly, quarterly, and annual expenses.
  • PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS: Support process improvements.
  • OTHER: Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 0-2 years of accounting experience, coursework and/or internships.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Strong team player with the ability to effectively interact with personnel from all aspects of the business unit.
  • Works well in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong analytical and time management skills.
  • Strong PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent Interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
