The Associate Financial Analyst supports financial planning and analysis activities. This role is responsible for performing variance analysis, partnering with department leaders to monitor financial performance, contributing to budgeting, and forecasting processes, and ensuring contractor spend aligns with approved budgets.

Position Information: This is a regular, full-time position, reporting to the FP&A Manager.

Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $62,470.00 and $75,000.00 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.

Location: In this US-based position your location will be hybrid at our headquarters in Tempe, AZ; with an on-site requirement of two days per week, you may choose any two days, Monday–Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM local time.

Travel: You can also expect up to approximately 5% travel; be sure you have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance and a clean driving record for at least the preceding 39 months.

Envision Your Experience.

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Perform monthly variance analysis to compare actual results against budget and forecast. 
  • Identify key drivers, trends, and risks, and provide actionable insights to leadership. 
  • Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and support analysis for internal stakeholders. 
  • Partner with department leaders to monitor financial performance and spending. 
  • Support cost management efforts and help ensure alignment with organizational goals. 
  • Communicate financial insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders. 
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. 
  • Maintain and update financial models to reflect changing business conditions. 
  • Support scenario analysis to inform decision-making. 
  • Review contractor requests and spend to ensure compliance with approved budgets. 
  • Track contractor utilization and forecast future needs. 
  • Collaborate with department leaders to manage expenses effectively. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, forecasting, and financial processes. 
  • Leverage financial systems and emerging AI tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Adapt to and support evolving processes in a high-growth environment. 
  • Other duties as required. 

 

Share Your Expertise.

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics and at least 1 year of financial analysis experience in a high-growth environment; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Self-starter with the ability to think creatively and learn new concepts. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with high standards of accuracy and precision. 
  • Strong financial modeling skills. 
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills to work with large amounts of data and convey data and storylines. 
  • Effective communication at a detailed technical level, with the ability to present to the leadership team. 
  • Ability to work well under pressure, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and stay flexible through growth and change. 
  • Experience using NetSuite, Salesforce, Adaptive Insights, or PowerBI, along with AI-driven tools. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 5% travel.
