Job DescriptionWorks within the Disabilities and Mental Health team in a collaborative team approach, serving as the content area expert to assist the Disabilities and Mental Health Manager and the Education and Child Development Director in planning, implementing, coordinating and monitoring services for children with special needs and/or behavioral concerns, per Head Start Performance Standards, the agency's policies and procedures and in support of the agency school readiness plan. Coordinates the functional assessments of behavior (FBA) and the development of Behavior Intervention Plans which address students' inappropriate behaviors and to provide a means to help children become more academically successful. The Disabilities and Behavioral Specialist also provides classroom and agency-wide behavior management strategies.
