Learning Assistant/ Contract Role
Location: Houston, Texas (On-Site Program Delivery)

Schedule: Saturdays | 11:00 AM โ approximately 4:30 PM

Position Summary
Champion Institute is seeking a high-energy leader to join our team as a Learning Assistant / Executive Function Coach (Contract).
This role works directly with middle and high school boys (ages 11โ18) and requires strong, grounded leadership presence and the ability to connect with teen boys in a structured environment.
This position is ideal for applicants who can serve as a consistent, structured role model for teen boys, and who can break down executive functioning material into small, clear learning chunks youth can apply immediately.
Experience mentoring boys and young men is strongly preferred.
This role is a strong fit for a recent graduate or early-career professional, including college or graduate-level students and emerging educators.
Key Responsibilities
ยท Lead short, engaging teaching segments on executive functioning and readiness habits.
ยท Break down concepts into simple steps youth can practice during the session.
ยท Reinforce high expectations: focus, effort, respect, and follow-through.
ยท Guide small group discussions and structured activities.
ยท Keep youth engaged, focused, and accountable.
ยท Support youth who struggle with attention, motivation, or consistency.
ยท Support weekly progress check-ins (goals, actions, completion tracking).
ยท Help youth complete learning challenges during sessions.
ยท Encourage growth through structure, consistency, and coaching presence.
Candidate Profile (Who You Are)
You are someone who can bring consistency, energy, and positive authority into a learning environment for teen boys. You communicate clearly, model discipline, and help young people develop the ability to focus, follow through, and execute.
This role is a strong fit if you are:
ยท A college student, graduate-level student, or early-career educator/professional
ยท Comfortable leading teen boys in a high-expectation environment
ยท Able to teach with โStep 1 / Step 2 / Step 3โ clarity
ยท Strong in communication, engagement, and structure
Requirements
ยท Strong communication and leadership presence
ยท Ability to hold attention, build rapport, and keep youth focused
ยท Dependable, punctual, professional, and coachable
ยท Comfortable working in a structured youth development environment
ยท Must pass a background check (working with minors)
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
ยท Experience mentoring, coaching, teaching, tutoring, or youth ministry
ยท Experience working with middle school or high school boys
ยท Interest in education, leadership development, psychology, or youth performance coaching
Compensation
Contracted compensation is competitive and based on experience and role scope.
