Job description

Responsibilities

The team supports a suite of web-based applications that automate critical data management processes for Intelligence Community (IC) data custodians. These applications facilitate the capture of information, approvals, and workflows required to move data through the customer mission space in a compliant and secure manner. The products play an important role in standardizing and simplifying data movement, enabling data reuse, and supporting integration with downstream mission tools and applications.

The team is seeking a Software Developer to join a mature, collaborative software development environment focused on delivering and enhancing mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have experience with Java development and an interest in expanding their skills across the full software development lifecycle.

Java is the team's primary development language, with modern frameworks and technologies such as Quarkus and PrimeFaces used to build and maintain robust web-based applications. These technologies provide opportunities for developers to work across the full technology stack, including backend services, application logic, and user interface development.

The development team follows Agile methodologies, using established processes and tools to plan, assign, track, and manage software development activities and requirements. Developers will collaborate closely with other software engineers, systems engineers, and stakeholders to design, implement, test, troubleshoot, and deploy new capabilities and enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain Java-based web applications.
  • Develop and enhance backend services and application functionality using Java and Quarkus.
  • Build and maintain user interfaces using PrimeFaces and related web technologies.
  • Participate in full-stack development across both frontend and backend components.
  • Work within an Agile development environment to plan and execute software development activities.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, and other technical stakeholders to develop solutions to mission requirements.
  • Analyze requirements and translate them into effective, maintainable software solutions.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and support the resolution of software defects and technical challenges.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, integration, and deployment activities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation related to application functionality and development activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and application capabilities.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field from an accredited college or university is highly desired which will be considered equivalent to four (4) years of experience. NOTE: A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field.
  • Shall have at least 5 years of experience in software engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • Shall have at least 4 years of experience with Java.
  • Shall have at least 3 years of experience in software integration and software testing, to include developing and implementing test plans and test scripts.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph clearance is required.

One of the following certifications are required:- AWS Certified Developer - Associate- AWS Certified Machine Learning - Associate- AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty- AWS DevOps Engineer Professional- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

Target Salary Range$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
