Job description

THIS POSITION DOES NOT START UNTIL AUGUST 2026 WHEN THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR STARTS!!This position is Monday - Friday 6:30 am -8:45 AM, and runs in the Boone County school schedule.

The task of an SAS Instructional Assistant is to provide quality care and educational support in a safe, nurturing environment for school-age children while following Learning Grove standards and state guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Some post-secondary education and childcare experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times.
  • Support learning through structured activities, creativity, and positive interactions.
  • Implement lesson plans aligned with state learning standards.
  • Maintain organized classrooms and complete assigned tasks and documentation.
  • Use positive guidance techniques to support children’s development.
  • Follow licensing, SUTQ/STARS, and Learning Grove requirements.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and positive relationships with families and staff.
  • Participate in required training and professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
