Job description

Business Development Representative

Location: Calgary, AB (hybrid / remote-friendly)

Our client is a well-established Canadian managed services and cybersecurity firm operating across Canada and the U.S. For over 15 years, they have built a profitable business and strong reputation driven primarily by client referrals and technical excellence. As they enter their next phase of growth, they are building their first dedicated sales function and hiring a Business Development Representative to lead outbound sales strategy and pipeline generation.

Working directly with company leadership, this role offers the chance to help establish the outbound sales playbook, drive new revenue, and help lay the foundation for an expanded sales organization as the business scales.

What You’ll Do

Outbound Pipeline Generation & Strategy

  • Identify, engage, and qualify prospective small to mid-sized organizations across Canada and the U.S. needing IT services, cybersecurity, cloud, and infrastructure solutions
  • Drive multichannel outbound outreach using email, phone, LinkedIn, and targeted industry events
  • Work closely with executive leadership to define target accounts, refine value propositions, and sharpen core messaging

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution

  • Partner with technical teams to translate complex IT and security solutions into business-value conversations for prospects
  • Manage and track prospect engagement, activity data, and outreach results to continuously refine conversion rates and pipeline quality
  • Help establish baseline sales operations, workflows, and reporting structures for the growing function

Role & Function Growth

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for prospective clients, running early-stage discovery and qualifying opportunities
  • Progressively take on a larger portion of the full sales cycle as processes mature
  • Assist in shaping the operational standards and structure for future sales hires

What You'll Bring

  • 2+ years of business development or full-cycle sales experience within IT managed services, cybersecurity, cloud, or SaaS
  • Proven experience executing outbound prospecting strategies across multiple channels
  • Clear, professional communication skills with an ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical business decision-makers
  • Self-directed work ethic with the desire to progress into an Account Executive or sales leadership role over time
  • Strong curiosity and resourcefulness when learning new client industries and technical offerings
  • Based in Calgary

This is an opportunity to join a stable, growing IT and cybersecurity provider at a key transition point, building the outbound sales function from the ground up with a direct path toward career advancement as the revenue team expands.
