The Learning and Development Specialist designs, coordinates, and delivers training programs that support employee development and organizational success. Partnering with subject matter experts, this role creates engaging learning materials and facilitates training on topics including professional development, leadership, communication, compliance, safety, and team building. The Learning & Development Specialist evaluates training effectiveness and continuously improves learning experiences to help employees reach their full potential..
Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through performance results and participant feedback, using findings to improve future programs.
  • Develop and create lesson plans, training aids, and presentation materials.
  • Design, tailor, and enhance training programs to meet the needs of different roles, departments, and overall organizational goals.
  • Support company communications by delivering clear, engaging, and relevant training content.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of eLearning and instructor-led training solutions.
  • Ensure training aligns with regulatory requirements and company policies in partnership with subject matter experts.
  • Update Best Practices as needed and ensure technical training aligns with updates.
  • Partner with leadership and employees to address identified training needs and performance gaps.
  • Support instructors during training sessions and conduct train-the-trainer programs to improve instructional delivery.
  • Schedule, track and manage registrations for training and all associated training needs. Ensure timely reminders are sent out.
  • Schedule and document required safety training, ensuring records remain current and accessible for compliance purposes.
  • Maintain accurate training records within BambooHR (or applicable HRIS), updating employee completions and certifications as training is delivered.
  • Identify, coordinate, and maintain relationships with external training vendors, providers, and subject matter experts to support program delivery.
  • Establish and maintain organized department files and records to support training documentation, vendor management, and program planning.
  • Stay well-informed of new and current training methodologies, theories, and techniques through continued education.
  • Assist in the development of the annual budget for the Learning and Development function.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience in learning and development, training, instructional design, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or a related field required.
  • Experience designing, developing, and delivering instructor-led and/or virtual training programs for adult learners.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Experience partnering with subject matter experts to develop effective learning content and training materials.
  • Ability to evaluate training effectiveness and use feedback to continuously improve learning programs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Experience in the construction industry, including knowledge of general contractor operations, roles, functions, and terminology, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Construction principles and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.

Salary Range & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $30.29 - $38.46 per hour.
