Job description

The Branch Manager Learning Branch (BM LB) leads the execution of all branch operations and revenue generating activities. This includes ensuring exceptional customer experiences while following all bank regulations and UMB's policies and procedures. The BM leads by example and coaches all branch associates on proactive financial conversations to uncover customer needs and offer bank products as solutions. The BM is ultimately responsible for the implementation and execution of the retail strategy. This leader's responsibility is to create a work environment that fosters teamwork, high morale, and retention of associates.
The BM LB will help coordinate new hire training programs as well as provide on site training/mentoring/modeling and support to new Retail Branch associates (in Learning Branch). The BM LM will coach the Personal Banker's (Learning Branch) to develop their training/mentoring skills. The BM LM will train and coach new hire Branch Managers. They will also perform ongoing needs assessments to determine performance gaps and recommend appropriate training interventions.
How you will spend your time:

  • Coach associates on performance; including proactive sales conversations, operational items, and customer interactions
  • Handle complex account maintenance and resolve customer escalations
  • Opening deposit and loan accounts
  • Meet performance and operational goals
  • Perform customer financial reviews
  • Cash handling
  • Outbound calling efforts to customers/prospects
  • Refer customers to UMB partners (i.e. Mortgage, Private Bank, Business Banking)
  • Execute on associate engagement plans to retain associates
  • Follow all policies and procedures and ensure associates do the same
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or comparable college and/or business experience

  • You have 3 years leadership, associate development or sales management

  • You have 2+ years of banking/financial services experience OR combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background

  • You have NMLS registration or will obtain within 90 days


Compensation Ranges:

US Employees in California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York:

$69,920 - $109,460

US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin:

$63,830 - $100,210

US Employees in all other states not listed above:

$57,760 - $90,960
