ABOUT THE POSITION:
The DYD will be responsible for implementing and sustaining a sound Youth Development program for all students at UD Team, through a sports-based youth development program and student support services. This is a year-round position that reports directly to the School Leader.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
Urban Dove Team Charter School (UD Team) is a distinctive network of sports-based high schools catering to over-aged, under-credited youth. We fuse a robust academic curriculum with sports-based youth development, ensuring our graduates receive a diploma, a stepping stone for higher education, and essential job skills.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve on the school's leadership team.
  • Supervise the Department of Youth Development members.
  • Train staff in behavior standards and restorative practices.
  • Embed UD Team token economy (TLCs) for behavior.
  • Conduct formal observations of coaches in various sessions.
  • Lead professional development for the department.
  • Address performance issues with staff.
  • Oversee coach-student 1:1 session documentation.
  • Track team data on behavior, credit, attendance, and scores.
  • Collaborate with social workers on Youth Development sessions.
  • Secure support for high-need students.
  • Manage department budget and equipment inventory.
  • Organize sports-based events and logistics.
  • Coordinate SBYD space and permits.
  • Collaborate with Special Education Coordinator on Restorative Plans.
  • Conduct walkthroughs, offering feedback on systems and management.
  • Oversee UD Cup competition.

  • Engage and inform parents, ensuring regular communication.
  • Implement Restorative Practices.
  • Mentor a student group.

Requirements
  • Master's Degree; ILL preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to "multi-task" and deliver high-quality work
