Program Coordinator for Educating Character Initiative (ECI)

The Program Coordinator for Educating Character Initiative (ECI) will be responsible for coordinating all Program activities across campus: curricular, co-curricular, extra-curricular, pre-nursing, nursing, post-graduation; Managing research for Program effectiveness related to understanding of Virtue Ethics; Faculty members teaching relevant pre-nursing courses; and overseeing development for all faculty members teaching relevant pre-nursing courses; and overseeing development and refinement of outcomes which address the addition of Virtue Ethics in each of the relevant pre-nursing courses. This is a grant-funded position with funding currently secured through 2028. Renewal or continuation of the position beyond the grant period is dependent upon the availability of continued funding and institutional approval. #CB

EXPERIENCE

  • At least two (2) years of experience in Catholic higher education, required

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a Health-Related field, required

  1. Mission Alignment

    1. Actively engages the Catholic and Franciscan mission and identity of Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University by modeling the Franciscan values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting justice for the communities we serve, and integrating the Catholic and Franciscan intellectual traditions in programs, courses and services

  2. Grant Coordination

    1. Coordinate the activities of other members of the Educating Character Initiative (ECI) Team through regular meetings and communication

    2. Work with REACH Team to align activities between Reflecting on Ethics and Catholic Healthcare (REACH) and ECI Grant

  3. Research Coordination

    1. Manage research efforts among faculty and staff related to Virtue Ethics and Virtue Pedagogy

  4. Program Assessment

    1. Oversee development and refinement of outcomes for ECI Program as well as measurement of those outcomes

    2. Work with faculty to develop and measure course outcomes linked to Program outcomes

  5. Faculty Development

    1. Coordinate efforts to provide faculty development on Virtue Ethics

  6. Co-curricular Activities

    1. Develop activities in coordination with Student Affairs, Service Learning, and Campus Ministry that provides students opportunities to develop character and perseverance

  7. Grant Acquisition

    1. Identify potential grant funders who can continue this project and interface with Institutional Advancement to approach for funding

  8. Budget Management 

    1. Oversee the management of the Educating Character Initiative budget

  9. Data-Driven Decision-Making

    1. Engage in an analytical, empirical, data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making
