The Operational Excellence Leader is responsible for driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency across the organization. This role leads strategic initiatives using Lean methodologies to optimize processes, enhance productivity, and foster a culture of excellence. SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES - Essential Functions (Other duties and projects may be assigned or requested.)

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement operational excellence strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean methodologies

Analyze current processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.

Facilitate workshops and training sessions to build operational excellence capabilities across teams.

Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to prioritize improvement initiatives and allocate resources effectively.

Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational performance.

Drive change management efforts to ensure sustainable adoption of new processes and practices.

Champion a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements in operational processes.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS - Education, Knowledge, and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

Five or more years of relevant experience.

Skills:

  • Five or more years of relevant experience in operational excellence, process improvement, or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional improvement initiatives.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and process mapping software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or similar certification.
  • Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, operations, or a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience with change management and organizational transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with KPI development, dashboards, and performance reporting tools.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred, such as Green Belt or Black Belt.
  • No specific license required unless otherwise noted by business needs or regulatory requirements.

SUPERVISION PROVIDED TO THE POSITION

  • This position may provide indirect leadership, guidance, and mentorship to project teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • May lead project-based teams and facilitate work performed by team members from multiple functions.

  • Serves as a key change agent and thought leader for operational excellence initiatives.
  • Influences decision-making through data, analysis, and strategic recommendations.
