- Oversee daily operations of the tool room, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Manage and maintain inventory of tools, fixtures, and equipment.
- Supervise and train tool room personnel, fostering skill development and safety.
- Implement and enforce preventative maintenance programs for tooling.
- Collaborate with production and engineering to optimize tool design and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- 5+ years experience in a tool room environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Proficiency in operating and programming various machine tools (e.g., CNC mills, lathes, grinders, EDM).
- Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and metrology.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and train a team of skilled machinists and toolmakers.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for tooling design and manufacturing.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
