About the Role
We're seeking a Project Business Development Manager with an understanding of the defense sector and a real knack for building business around advanced weapons systems. You'll drive growth, hunt for new opportunities, and work closely with engineering, sales, and government stakeholders to bring complex defense solutions to market. This position is about shaping strategy, forging lasting partnerships, and navigating the nuances of military procurement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the defense weapons market, focusing on both domestic and international clients.
  • Develop and execute strategies for winning key government and defense contracts, collaborating with internal proposal, engineering, and product teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with defense agencies, military branches, system integrators, and prime contractors.
  • Lead or support bid and proposal efforts, ensuring compliance with regulations and alignment with customer requirements.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and evolving customer needs to inform product development and positioning.
  • Negotiate contracts and partnership agreements, balancing commercial objectives with regulatory compliance.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and client meetings,
  • Attend live-fire events and conduct product demonstrations as a subject matter expert on the MK 47.
  • Lead and manage development projects for weapon integration into systems such as RWS and UGV platforms.
  • Support the development of marketing, training, and user materials across the product lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular internal training for the sales organization.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, program management, or sales within the defense sector; weapons systems experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of defense acquisition processes, government contracting, and export compliance (e.g., ITAR, EAR).
  • Proven track record of building relationships and delivering results in a highly regulated, competitive environment.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills - you can talk to engineers, generals, and government buyers alike.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed, sometimes on short notice.
