We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME)-levelย Leadย Systems Engineer to plan, coordinate, and oversee the development and implementation of new systems and technologies. This role provides technical and management leadership on major engineering assignments, translating business requirements into technical solutions and driving the implementation of scaled agile methodologies across a System of Systems (SoS). Theย Lead Systems Engineer owns systems engineering management processes, the Integration and Implementation Plan (IIP), and technical integration across stakeholders. Decision-making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall program implementation. May supervise others.ย 

What You'll Be Doing:ย 

  • Establish, document, andย maintainย systems engineering management process documentation, including theย SEMP, Test and Evaluation Management Plans (TEMP), and Concept of Operationsย 
  • Create andย maintainย theย Integration and Implementation Plan (IIP), defining major and interim milestones, Readiness Review (RR) success criteria, and SoS integration narrativeย 
  • Support technical integration within all functional areas of Operational Delivery and integrated product teamsย in accordance withย the SEMPย 
  • Facilitate and supportย Technical Review Boards (TRBs)ย asย requiredย 
  • Coordinate and oversee technical and business integration activities across stakeholders, third-party contractors, purpose-built systems, and the Business Ecosystemย 
  • Develop, document, andย maintainย IT planning and strategy documents, such as theย IT Strategy and Roadmapย 
  • Validate systems engineering designs and plans and support the Disposition Management Planย 
  • Develop and support aย technical onboarding process and training for systems supporting the Programย 
  • Assist Integrated Product Teams, OD Teams, and system teams in implementingย System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)ย toolsย 
  • Drive the implementation andย utilizationย ofย scaled agileย methodologies across multi-team delivery environmentsย 
  • Distribute and communicate updates to systems engineering processes and manage the transition to updated processesย 

Education and Experienceย 

  • Bachelor's degreeย in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fieldย 
  • 15+ yearsย of experience providing technical and management leadership on major systems engineering assignments (SME level)ย 

Certificationsย 

Desired:ย 

  • Cloud certification (AWS / Azure / Google)ย 
  • Agile certification (Scrum /ย SAFe)ย 
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)ย 

Required Skillsย 

  • Expert experience in systems engineering management across the full system development and operational lifecycleย 
  • Demonstrated ability to author andย maintainย SEMP, TEMP, IIP, and Concept of Operations documentationย 
  • Experience driving technical integration across aย System of Systems (SoS)ย with multiple service and solution providersย 
  • Strong background implementingย scaled agileย methodologies in large, multi-team programsย
