The ideal candidate is a strong technical recruiter who understands modern technology environments and can translate complex hiring needs into effective talent strategies. This individual will partner closely with technical leaders, hiring managers, and business stakeholders to develop targeted recruiting strategies, conduct talent market mapping, build high-quality pipelines, and compete for hard-to-find technical talent.

Experience supporting product, platform, or AI-focused organizations is valuable, but the primary focus of this role is broad technical recruiting expertise and the ability to recruit across highly competitive technology skill sets.

The recruiter will operate as a consultative talent partner, bringing market intelligence, sourcing expertise, and a strong understanding of technical talent markets to help LMI scale critical capabilities across the organization.

This role may be based in Tysons, VA; Colorado Springs, CO; or North Carolina, with the Fayetteville area preferred. Hybrid or onsite expectations will be based on location and business requirements.

LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Investing in technology and prototypes ahead of need, LMI brings commercial-grade platforms and mission-ready AI to federal agencies at commercial speed.

Leveraging our mission-ready technology and solutions, proven expertise in federal deployment, and strategic relationships, we enhance outcomes for the government efficiently and effectively. With a focus on agility and collaboration, LMI serves the defense, space, healthcare, and energy sectors, helping agencies navigate complexity and outpace change. Headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, LMI is committed to delivering impactful results that strengthen missions and drive lasting value.

Responsibilities

The Technical Recruiter will lead recruiting efforts across technical, engineering, data, and digital organizations.

  • Partner with hiring managers, technical leaders, and business stakeholders to develop and execute talent acquisition strategies for highly technical and hard-to-fill positions.
  • Lead full lifecycle recruiting, including talent identification, sourcing, screening, candidate engagement, interview management, offer development, negotiation, and closing.
  • Recruit across technical disciplines including cloud engineering, cloud architecture, software engineering, DevSecOps, infrastructure automation, data engineering, data science, AI/ML, cybersecurity, systems engineering, and related emerging technologies.
  • Develop a strong understanding of technical architectures, engineering environments, and required skill sets to effectively assess and engage technical candidates.
  • Build proactive sourcing strategies using talent mapping, market research, Boolean search, X-Ray search, professional communities, referrals, and targeted passive candidate outreach.
  • Identify and engage passive technical talent in highly competitive and specialized labor markets.
  • Build sustainable talent communities and evergreen pipelines for recurring and mission-critical technology skill sets.
  • Conduct technical candidate screenings to evaluate experience, technical depth, career motivations, location considerations, compensation expectations, and overall alignment with LMI opportunities.
  • Serve as a consultative talent advisor to hiring managers by providing labor market intelligence, candidate availability, competitive insights, compensation considerations, and sourcing recommendations.
  • Drive effective intake and calibration conversations to establish clear candidate profiles, hiring priorities, and recruiting strategies.
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve time to fill, pipeline quality, conversion rates, candidate experience, and overall recruiting effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting activity, candidate dispositioning, pipeline data, and hiring metrics within the applicant tracking system.
  • Use recruiting analytics and funnel metrics to identify pipeline gaps, sourcing challenges, and opportunities to improve hiring outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with OFCCP requirements, federal contractor recruiting practices, and LMI hiring policies.
  • Support broader talent acquisition initiatives including workforce planning, employer branding, sourcing campaigns, talent intelligence, and strategic pipeline development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Marketing, Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of technical recruiting experience, preferably supporting complex engineering, technology, or digital organizations.
  • Ability to work from Tysons, VA; Colorado Springs, CO; or North Carolina, preferably the Fayetteville area.
  • Demonstrated success recruiting technical professionals across areas such as cloud, software engineering, DevSecOps, data engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, or related technology disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of modern technical skill sets, technology stacks, engineering terminology, and technical talent markets.
  • Proven ability to develop creative sourcing strategies and engage passive, high-demand technical talent.
  • Experience using advanced sourcing techniques including Boolean search, Google X-Ray, LinkedIn Recruiter, talent mapping, competitive intelligence, and targeted outreach campaigns.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex technical requirements and translate them into effective recruiting and sourcing strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate as a trusted recruiting partner to technical leaders and hiring managers.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical requisitions and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong pipeline quality and candidate engagement.
