Description

The Patient Service Representative, Lead (PSR) provides a welcoming environment to the patients and visitors alike. PSR's are the first face one sees upon entering a facility. Registers all patients and provides them with accurate information regarding the billing process. Verifies the patient's insurance promptly to help guide the clinical staff decision making. Responsible for collecting payment at time of service while maintaining an active cash drawer. In addition to the duties of the PSR, the PSR lead will also provide support to the Nursing Director/Facility Administrator (FA) to ensure that policies and procedures set by the Ally Medical Management team are adhered to. Acts as a leader to fellow PSR's and provide feedback to them to help improve their job function.

Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the FA in scheduling and running Front Office Staff Meetings.
  • Provides guidance and communication to all front office personnel regarding any policy or procedure changes.
  • Assist FA to ensure the work schedule and shifts are adequately covered and may do the scheduling if delegated to.ย 
  • Works in collaboration with the FA and HR in identifying a need for new staff, interviewing potential candidates, and assists in performance reviews and coaching of front office staff.
  • Communicates to all staff policies and procedures and completes audits of Front Office charts to ensure compliance.
  • Provides appropriate orientation, training and monitoring of new staff and will provide feedback to the FA regarding 90 days probationary and performance reviews.
  • Provides front office registration duties such as collecting patient demographic information, inputting insurance information, verifying benefits, and acquiring signatures on ER consent forms.ย 

Required Skills/Abilities:ย 

  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Excellent active listening skills and a strong service orientation.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a healthcare setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of all Ally and customer data to which you are granted access. Any suspected compromises of Ally proprietary data or customer data must be reported to Management immediately.
  • You will adhere to the Company's Information Security Policy and Procedures and support standard operating procedures to protect Company systems and data.
  • You will alert management immediately with any expected system or data compromises and/or system failure impacting the security, confidentiality, availability, and integrity of Ally Medical and customer data.
  • You will be required to attend an annual Information Security Awareness Training.
