Job description

Build reliable platforms that help healthcare teams deliver better care.
Zynx Health is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help build, secure, automate, and continuously improve the technology platforms behind evidence-based clinical decision support solutions. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys solving complex platform problems, improving developer experience, and strengthening the reliability of systems that support healthcare organizations and clinical teams.
You will join a collaborative Technology organization where DevOps, product development, architecture, security, QA, and data platform teams work together to make applications and services buildable, deployable, observable, secure, scalable, recoverable, and maintainable across the full delivery lifecycle.
This position is remote within the United States.
Zynx Health is currently seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer in the Technology department. The Senior DevOps Engineer plays a critical role in advancing DevOps execution, platform engineering, CI/CD automation, operational reliability, secure delivery practices, and cloud/container enablement across Zynx Health technology platforms.
In this role, you will own and improve assigned platforms and services, support high-availability healthcare technology environments, and help ensure the secure handling, storage, transmission, and processing of customer/client data, PHI, and PII. You will also help establish reusable automation patterns, operational standards, and documentation that make our systems easier to operate and safer to change.
What You Will Do
  • Design, build, and maintain deployment pipelines, platform tooling, automation scripts, infrastructure-as-code patterns, and operational runbooks that improve consistency and reduce manual work.
  • Operate, harden, and continuously improve OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, and container-based environments across development, test, staging, and production workflows.
  • Support AWS infrastructure and managed services, including IAM, VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, Route 53, CloudWatch, load balancing, security groups, and KMS.
  • Build and improve CI/CD and GitOps delivery workflows using GitLab CI/CD, Tekton, OpenShift GitOps, ArgoCD, and comparable automation frameworks.
  • Automate build, test, dependency analysis, image scanning, package, deployment, rollback, verification, and release governance processes.
  • Strengthen observability, reliability, and resilience through logging, monitoring, tracing, dashboards, alerting, SLIs/SLOs, telemetry, incident analysis, backup/restore validation, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Integrate DevSecOps practices into pipelines, environments, access controls, vulnerability remediation, secrets management, certificate handling, and operational workflows.
  • Partner with Security & Compliance to support HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, OWASP, NIST, auditability, policy enforcement, software supply chain security, and risk mitigation expectations.
  • Support application and data platform operations involving Java/Groovy Spring Boot, .NET Core/C#, Svelte/SvelteKit, React, TypeScript, MarkLogic, PostgreSQL, Redis, Apache Kafka, Amazon RDS, and related technologies.
  • Lead structured troubleshooting across application, infrastructure, CI/CD, container, runtime, identity, network, DNS, TLS, database, messaging, and data-service layers.
  • Mentor DevOps engineers, software developers, and project contributors on operational readiness, automation patterns, troubleshooting practices, secure delivery, and platform standards.
  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly to accelerate scripting, pipeline development, documentation, troubleshooting, and operational analysis while validating all outputs before use in shared or production environments.

What You Bring
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern DevOps, platform engineering, CI/CD, GitOps, secure delivery, cloud infrastructure, and operational reliability practices.
  • Deep working knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS infrastructure, cloud-native operating models, and container-based environments.
  • Ability to design, implement, troubleshoot, and improve deployment pipelines, platform automation, safe rollout and rollback patterns, and operational controls.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, scripting, repeatable environment provisioning, lifecycle management, and safe change-management practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across application, infrastructure, container, runtime, identity, network, DNS, TLS, database, messaging, and data-service layers.
  • Working knowledge of observability and reliability practices, including logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, incident response, SLI/SLO practices, backup/restore validation, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Security-first mindset with practical experience in secure configuration, secrets management, access control, vulnerability management, policy enforcement, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Ability to communicate technical risks, tradeoffs, implementation options, operational impacts, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative approach to working with development, QA, architecture, security, compliance, data engineering, infrastructure, and operational teams.
  • Strong documentation habits, including runbooks, operational notes, platform standards, diagrams, support expectations, and implementation guidance.

Required Experience
  • Typically 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, or comparable technology roles.
  • Demonstrated experience operating as a senior hands-on engineer with ownership of complex platform, automation, reliability, security, or operational initiatives in production environments.
  • Strong experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS infrastructure, cloud-native operating models, and container-based environments.
  • Strong experience with GitLab CI/CD, Tekton, OpenShift GitOps, ArgoCD, or comparable CI/CD, GitOps, and release automation tooling.
  • Strong experience with monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, incident response, backup/restore validation, disaster recovery planning, and system reliability practices.
  • Strong experience with secure configuration, secrets management, access control, vulnerability management, policy enforcement, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting PostgreSQL administration or operations in Amazon RDS and self-managed environments.
  • Working knowledge of Java/Groovy Spring Boot services, .NET Core/C# services, or modern frontend delivery patterns.
  • Familiarity with MarkLogic, Redis, Apache Kafka, Keycloak, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, Wiz, Tenable, Snyk, SonarQube, and related tooling.
  • Experience working in healthcare, regulated, compliance-sensitive, high-availability, HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, OWASP, or NIST-aligned environments.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools in engineering workflows with appropriate validation, code review, privacy, and security practices.

Why Join Zynx Health?
  • Meaningful mission: help build smart healthcare technology that supports evidence-based practices and better patient care.
  • Modern platform work: contribute to cloud, container, CI/CD, GitOps, observability, reliability, security, and automation initiatives that directly improve engineering effectiveness.
  • Senior technical ownership: solve complex problems, lead technical workstreams, mentor others, and influence how platforms are built and operated.
  • Collaborative environment: work across DevOps, product development, architecture, QA, data engineering, and Security & Compliance teams.
  • Remote work model: contribute from anywhere in the United States as part of a fully remote organization.
