HiFyve is hiring a CNC Lead Machinist in the Precision Machining industry!

Pay: $25 - $35/hour

Shift: 1st 6am-2:30pm M-F OR 6am-4:30pm M-T

2nd 2pm-10:30pm M-F OR 4pm-2:30am M-T

(Flexible)

Location: On-site in Grand Rapids, MN

Position Overview:

HiFyve is partnering with an established precision machining manufacturer seeking an experienced CNC Lead Machinist to support programming, setup, troubleshooting, and production activities across CNC milling and turning operations.

This position is ideal for a highly skilled machinist who enjoys taking ownership of jobs from setup through production while helping improve processes and supporting less experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for precision machined components

Set up and operate CNC Mazak mills and lathes

Develop efficient tool paths, feeds, and speeds for a variety of materials

Select tooling and machining strategies based on part geometry and tolerance requirements

Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues

Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment and verify dimensional requirements

Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications

Support process improvement initiatives and reduction of machine downtime

Assist with training and mentoring operators and less experienced machinists

Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment concerns

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Previous CNC machining experience required

Experience setting up and operating Mazak equipment preferred

Experience creating and editing CNC programs

Mastercam and/or SolidWorks CAD/CAM experience preferred

Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading

Ability to optimize machine performance and improve cycle times

Experience working with complex machined components

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
