Job description

In today's culinary world, perfection and execution is key. Parkwest Casino is searching for an exceptional and talented Lead Line Cook with these character traits. The Lead Line Cook will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing the kitchen and everyday matters. With a top of the line menu and talented staff, we are looking for that innovative professional who will inspire the kitchen to the next level. The right candidate will help us provide guests with the most outstanding food and dining experience. If youโ€™re the best at what you do and enjoy providing superior service in an exciting atmosphere we would love to meet you!


  1. A successful lead line cook will be fully knowledgeable of seasonal foods and creating daily specials that coincide.
  2. Ideal candidate will be flexible with managing staff as well as shifts.
  3. As lead line cook you should be able to commend excellence from the staff and uphold the standards whether the chef is present or not.
  4. A lead line cook should expect to spend a quarter of his or her working hours on administrative duties (ie: assisting chef for bi-monthly inventory)
  5. A lead line cook should be able to see projects all the way through with no supervision and meet all deadlines to be a team player.
  6. Ability to promote positive interactions with guests through sincere greeting and communications.

  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent. 
  • Culinary degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Open availability. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test and criminal background check.
  • Active California Food Handlers Certificate/Card required for this position. 

Physical and mental requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and bend at neck for 3 or more hours a day.
  • Position will require repetitive use of hands for the following actions; simple and power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing & pulling and reaching for entire shift.
  • Position may require exposure to excessive noise, exposure to dust, gas, flames, chemicals, exposure to extremes in temperature, humidity or wetness.
  • Must be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation.
