Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Health is now seeking to fill Lead Intake Counselor position.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Admissions, the Lead Intake Counselor supports the purpose and procedure of the entire admission and is accountable for assisting in the management of the department. Assists in maintaining department procedures in the following areas: daily census records, inquiry calls and referral log, and ensures that the level of treatment and clinical services is appropriate to all patients' needs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Thoroughly assessing and completing the assessment tool for all clients.
  • Communicating information with the on-call provider and nursing to determine an appropriate level of care.
  • Documenting all findings and recommendations.
  • Assisting clients in being admitted or referred out to the service or resource to best address their needs .
  • Referral management and ensuring prompt response times.
  • Providing information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professional staff (physicians, consulting professionals, etc.) requesting information regarding potential admissions
  • Developing and/or maintaining relationships with ongoing sources of referral to alternate treatment sources when appropriate.
  • Completing insurance verification and precertification as applicable.
  • Participating in crisis and safety interventions as needed.
  • Assisting in performance improvement/quality measurement activities as assigned.

Sunday - Thursday 12:00PM - 8:30PM

Qualifications
Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other related field, or RN required.
Experience: At least one year of Admissions Experience
Age-Specific Competencies: Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric
Licensure/Certification: CPR required; CPI Certification required.
HIPAA: Has access to Medical Records of cases to which they are assigned work, for quality compliance and risk related issues. Use of PHI is for purposes of Healthcare Operations.
