About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer-Solace to join the Solace Engineering team. We design and engineer lowlatency Solace platform made up of Solace PubSub+ Event Brokers (Hardware Appliances) that support our most critical applications.

The ideal candidate is a handson Solace infrastructure engineer with a forwardlooking mindset centered around the 3As: Automation, APIs, and AI. You are a strong advocate of DevOps, SRE, and Agile practices and play a key role in designing and building a standardized, scalable, and resilient hardwarebased Solace platform. As a lead engineer, you will bring a strategic engineering mindset and deep experience managing complex enterprise infrastructure. In this role, you will collaborate closely with infrastructure teams and architects to design selfservice, highly available, and lowmaintenance platforms. You will also empower development and operations teams by building robust, valueadded tooling and automation through scripts and APIs.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives to design, build, and engineer infrastructure solutions supporting missioncritical business applications
  • Drive an automationfirst infrastructure engineering strategy, ensuring infrastructure is designed to be programmatically provisioned, configured, and managed
  • Apply AIassisted engineering capabilities to accelerate infrastructure development, including code generation, configuration validation, design analysis, and standardization
  • Participate in projects to modernize and evolve Solace infrastructure architecture, aligning with targetstate engineering principles
  • Evaluate internal and external technologies, including AIenabled engineering platforms, to support infrastructure build, automation, and architectural goals
  • Design infrastructure patterns and tooling that reduce manual effort and improv repeatability, reliability, and engineering quality
  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaboration with engineering teams
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document infrastructure automation and tooling using Agile engineering practices
  • Make technical decisions related to architecture, automation frameworks, AI usage, implementation plans, and engineering tradeoffs
  • Identify engineering risks and dependencies early and define mitigation strategies through design and automation
  • Direct daily risk and control activities, ensuring infrastructure engineering aligns with policies, procedures, and standards
  • Recommend engineering approaches that improve cost efficiency, scalability, resiliency, and speed of delivery
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, managers, customers, and vendors to resolve complex engineering challenges.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of middleware engineering or administration experience using Solace PubSub+ hardware appliances and/or Solace PubSub+ Software Brokers (OCP Containers and Public Cloud)
  • 5+ years of experience building and managing enterprisescale infrastructure using automation
  • 3+ years of advanced coding or scripting skills, with a strong focus on infrastructure automation (e.g., Python or similar).

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with observability and monitoring tools such as RTView, Grafana, Prometheus, and BigPanda
  • 5+ years of automation experience using Python, SEMP APIs, GitOps, and integration with CI/CD pipelines and internal developer platforms (IDPs)
  • Expertlevel knowledge of Splunk, including dashboard creation and alert configuration
  • Experience with scheduling tools such as Autosys or similar platforms
  • Ability to provide Level 3 (L3) engineering support for operations and development teams
  • Familiarity with Tomcat, Java, and database technologies
  • Expert understanding of infrastructure engineering technologies, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and remediate complex technical engineering and support issues.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$119,000.00 - $224,000.00
