About this role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer within the Digital Infrastructure Services organization to drive the design, engineering, and enablement of modern, cloud-native infrastructure platforms across hybrid and on-prem environments.

This role focuses on platform engineering, Kubernetes/OpenShift, infrastructure architecture, and automation, enabling application teams to deliver highly scalable, resilient, and secure solutions aligned with enterprise cloud modernization and data center transformation programs.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design and engineering of end-to-end infrastructure platforms, ensuring reliability, resiliency, scalability, and fault tolerance
  • Drive OpenShift and Kubernetes platform engineering, including cluster architecture, workload onboarding, traffic routing, and service mesh enablement
  • Partner with engineering and application teams to modernize legacy workloads, enabling migration to cloud-native and container-based platforms
  • Design and support high-performance infrastructure environments, including container platforms, VM-based workloads, and emerging AI/ML and HPC platforms
  • Enable observability, monitoring, and alerting frameworks using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and AppDynamics to ensure system health and performance
  • Lead capacity planning, performance optimization, and cost efficiency initiatives (FinOps)
  • Drive solutions for resiliency, fault tolerance, and high availability, including multi-region and multi-data center strategies
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and lead POCs and POTs to drive continuous innovation and modernization
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers, influencing best practices, standards, and solution patterns

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with cloudnative platforms and architectures, including containerization, distributed systems, and scalable deployment models
  • 3+ years of experience with distributed streaming and event-driven architectures, using technologies such as Kafka, Flink, or similar real-time data processing frameworks
  • 3+ years of experience in database design and data architecture, including relational and/or NoSQL systems, data modeling, and high-throughput data access patterns
  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade automation solutions using tools such as Ansible, Harness CD, GitHub Actions, and Playwright

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting highvolume, missioncritical applications at scale, with millions of daily users
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects with limited supervision and high accountability
  • Cloud certifications in AWS, GCP, Azure, or Generative AI
  • Experience with AVI, F5 load balancing, or traffic management solutions
  • Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure or platform engineering concepts including prompt engineering, vector databases, and orchestration tools

    Pay Range

    Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

    $143,000.00 - $224,000.00
