Infrastructure Architect

Location: Alpharetta, GA

The Infrastructure Architect is a senior-level technical leader responsible for designing, integrating, and optimizing enterprise IT infrastructure to support organizational goals. This role focuses on infrastructure integration, cloud and datacentre architecture, directory & identity services, collaboration platforms, and cross-functional technology alignment. The Architect will collaborate with enterprise architecture teams, lead modernization initiatives, ensure compliance, and drive innovation and cost-efficiency across the infrastructure landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Design & Integration
    • Lead integration initiatives across mergers, acquisitions, and enterprise programs, including:
      • User Experience & Collaboration migrations
      • Datacenter and cloud architecture
      • Workload migrations
      • Active Directory / Entra ID and Office 365 consolidation
    • Develop end-to-end infrastructure blueprints, patterns, standards, and best practices in partnership with enterprise architecture.
  • Technology Strategy & Governance
    • Define the strategic direction for core infrastructure domains, including cloud, identity, collaboration, network, compute, storage, database, and security.
    • Promote the use of shared systems, standard tools, and unified platforms to reduce cost and improve operational efficiency.
    • Ensure that new solutions align with business objectives and do not duplicate functionality or diverge from IT strategy.
  • Operational Leadership
    • Act as a Level-4 escalation point for complex operational, performance, and service restoration issues.
    • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and propose long-term fixes.
    • Plan lifecycle management, refresh cycles, and roadmaps for enterprise systems.
  • Architecture Assurance & Delivery
    • Assess software and infrastructure requirements to design high-availability, resilience, and disaster recovery architectures.
    • Support installation and upgrade governance in compliance with corporate policies and license agreements.
    • Identify, implement, and monitor infrastructure architecture best practices across programs and teams.

Technical Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive IT Infrastructure experience, including at least 5 years in an architect role.
  • Strong leadership experience working with Infrastructure, Cloud, and DevOps teams.
  • Deep expertise in:
    • Windows Server / Active Directory / Entra ID
    • Microsoft Exchange / Office 365
    • Azure or AWS cloud (IaaS/PaaS)
    • Enterprise networks (LAN/WAN, firewalls, load balancers)
    • Server virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
    • SAN/Storage architecture
    • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Cloud architecture certifications (Azure Architect Expert or AWS Solutions Architect – Professional) required.

General Qualifications

  • Strong background designing enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership and C-suite stakeholders.
