What are Lead Development Representatives?

Lead Development Representatives (LDRs) are sales professionals responsible for identifying, qualifying, and nurturing potential customers, known as leads, for a business. Their primary role is to initiate contact with prospects, assess their interest and needs, and determine if they are a good fit for the company’s products or services. LDRs often use cold calling, email outreach, and social media to generate and qualify leads before passing them on to sales teams for further engagement. They play a critical role in building the sales pipeline and supporting overall business growth.

As a Lead Development Representative (LDR), you'll work closely with both sales and marketing teams to ensure a steady flow of qualified leads.
